5.3 magnitude earthquake in Pakistan
A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was felt in various cities of Pakistan, causing panic among the citizens. Islamabad Earthquake, Peshawar Earthquake and these tremors were felt in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Meanwhile, people came out of their houses and shops out of fear and started reciting Kalima Tayyaba.
Today’s tremors come exactly two months after a magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck the federal capital and parts of Punjab and KP on September 11.
According to the seismological center, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 5.3, and its epicenter was the Hindu Kush mountain, while the depth of the earthquake was reported to be 220 km. A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was also felt in Swat, Swabi, Charsadda, Malakand, Mardan, Hangu, Chitral, Buner and surrounding areas, along with a magnitude 5.3 earthquake in Mansehra, Khyber, Bara, Landi Kotal, Jamrud and Tirah. The effects were felt.
At least six earthquakes have hit the country so far this year, three of which were in the coastal city of Karachi.
Earthquakes are not uncommon in Pakistan, as the country is located on the border of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates. Large parts of South Asia are seismically active as a tectonic plate known as the Indian Plate is pushing northward into the Eurasian Plate.
