Sarah Khan

Sarah Khan, also known as Sarah Falak, is a Pakistani actress recognized for her work in Urdu-language television series. Born on 14 July 1992, she commenced her acting journey with a supporting role in the 2012 Hum TV serial “Badi Aapa.” Subsequently, she took on various brief roles in different series. However, her breakthrough came with the portrayal of Farisa in the Moomal-produced romantic drama “Alvida” (2015), followed by the character Saba in the mystery drama “Mohabbat Aag Si” (2015), which earned her a Hum Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Sarah gained widespread acclaim for her leading roles in projects such as the romantic drama “Tumhare Hain” and the black magic-based “Nazr-e-Bad,” both in 2017. Her performance in “Belapur Ki Dayan” (2018) resulted in a Best Actress nomination at the Hum Awards. She continued to receive praise for her roles in the mystery drama “Band Khirkiyan” (2018), “Raqs e Bismil” (2020), “Laapata” (2021), and the comedy drama “Hum Tum” (2022). However, she is best known for her portrayal of Miraal in Hum TV’s drama “Sabaat.” Throughout her career, Sarah Khan has demonstrated versatility and earned accolades for her contributions to Pakistani television.

Early & Personal Life

Born on July 14, 1992, in Medina, Saudi Arabia, Khan is the daughter of a Lebanese mother and a Pakistani Pashtun father from the Yusufzai tribe. She has two sisters and a brother, namely Noor Zafar Khan (an actress), Aisha Khan, and Hamza.

In July 2020, Khan tied the knot with singer and songwriter Falak Shabir, just a few weeks after their engagement. On October 8, 2021, Shabir joyfully revealed the arrival of their daughter, Alyana Falak.

Sarah Khan - Career

Khan initiated her acting career with a supporting role in the 2012 drama “Badi Aapa,” which aired on Hum TV. In this series, she portrayed the character of the daughter of the main protagonists. Following this, she participated in the telenovela serial “Mirat-ul-Uroos,” broadcast on Geo TV the same year, where she played the prominent role of Humna, sharing the screen with Mehwish Hayat, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ahsan Khan, Samina Ahmad, and Ayesha Khan.

Subsequently, Khan took on supporting roles in several successful television series. Her breakthrough came in 2015 with a negative character, a selfish opportunist, in the romantic drama “Alvida,” co-starring with Sanam Jung and Imran Abbas Naqvi. Aired on Hum TV, the drama earned her a nomination. In the same year, she delivered an outstanding performance in the drama “Mohabbat Aag Si,” receiving an award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Portraying the character of a courageous housewife named Saba, she starred alongside Azfar Rehman.

In 2014, Khan featured in the soap series “Bhool” with Sanam Chaudhry, Behroze Sabzwari, and Fazila Qazi. Her notable recognition came when she was named one of the BBC’s 100 women of 2014. The drama, centered around political intrigue, garnered various awards, including a Hum Award for Best Actress Popular.

In 2018, Khan took on the lead role of Tasha in “Belapur Ki Dayan,” where she portrayed the character of a Dayan alongside Adnan Siddiqui and Ammar Khan. Her commendable performance as Zohra in “Raqs e Bismil” earned her widespread acclaim. Khan further solidified her reputation by playing the role of the arrogant Miraal in “Sabaat” alongside Usman Mukhtar. Her exceptional portrayal in this drama earned her the PISA Award for Best Television Actress Popular.

In 2022, Khan essayed the role of a psychology student, Maha Qutub ud Din, in the Ramadan special “Hum Tum,” opposite Junaid Khan. Following this, she played Anum in “Wabaal,” alongside Talha Chahour.

Other work

Khan has made guest appearances on various shows throughout her career. Notably, in 2015, she portrayed the character Saman in “Maana Ka Gharana.” Her presence extended to an episode of “Kitni Girhain Baaki Hain: Part 2” (2017) and another episode of “Ustani Jee” (2018). In 2018, she graced the second season of the talk show “The After Moon Show” as a guest. Achieving significant recognition, Khan secured the tenth position as the most searched person on Google in Pakistan in 2020.

Furthermore, her talents were acknowledged in 2022 when she earned a spot in the “Best Pakistani Actresses” list for her remarkable performance in “Hum Tum.” Adding to her accolades, Khan was featured in the “Trailblazers” category of Hello Pakistan’s HOT100 list in the same year.
