Development
In September 2017, Rohit Shetty excited fans by announcing his next directorial project with Ranveer Singh, also hinting at a third installment in the Singham film series. While confirming the return of Ajay Devgn to the franchise, Shetty kept details about production timelines under wraps. Fast forward to January 2020, and Devgn dropped subtle hints about the progress of Singham 3. By March of the same year, reports surfaced of Akshay Kumar joining the cast, linking the film to Shetty’s Cop Universe, following their collaboration on Sooryavanshi.
As anticipation mounted, news in January 2021 suggested that production for Singham 3 would kick off once Shetty wrapped up his commitments with Cirkus in 2022. Adding to the excitement, reports surfaced of Jackie Shroff stepping into the role of the main antagonist. Then, in November of the same year, rumors swirled about Ranveer Singh reprising his role from the 2018 hit, Simmba. Finally, on December 1, 2022, production houses confirmed the collaboration between Shetty and Devgn, unveiling the official title: Singham Again. With production slated to start after Devgn’s completion of Bholaa in 2023, fans eagerly await the return of the iconic cop.
Filming
Principal photography for the film commenced on September 16, 2023, with a ceremonial puja held at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. The initial schedule took place at the same location, with actors Ranveer Singh and Shweta Tiwari joining the sets. Kareena Kapoor joined the production on September 23, adding to the star-studded cast.
The second schedule kicked off on October 5 in Hyderabad, focusing on pivotal scenes including a high-octane climax. Kareena Kapoor joined the shoot on October 6, alongside Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor. Akshay Kumar completed his part by October 15, followed by Ranveer Singh on October 20. The schedule concluded on November 7 after intensive filming.
Filming resumed on November 19 at Madh Island, where an action-packed scene set in a fair was captured, requiring over 100 actors to create the bustling atmosphere. Towards the end of November, a significant action sequence featuring Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh was filmed at the Golden Tobacco Factory, involving a large crowd and explosive car stunts. The shoot then shifted to Film City for a fight sequence set in an Ashram, featuring Kareena Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor.
In January, filming resumed at Ramoji Film City, with Arjun Dwivedi joining the cast. Ajay Devgn was absent from this leg of shooting as he was still recovering. Dwivedi reprised his role from the Cop Universe series Indian Police Force, adding depth to the film’s ensemble cast.
