Her cinematic journey commenced with a notable performance in Jacques Becker’s “Rendezvous in July” (1949), marking the beginning of a distinguished film career. Throughout the 1950s, she graced the screens of French cinema with her presence, earning recognition for her roles, notably in Julien Duvivier’s romantic gem “Under the Sky of Paris” (1951). However, her most celebrated role came in Alfred Hitchcock’s timeless classic “To Catch a Thief” (1955), where she portrayed the character of Danielle Foussard alongside Hollywood legends Cary Grant and Grace Kelly.

In 1957, she briefly entered a relationship with Alain Delon, with whom she resided in Paris for a few months. Their union coincided with the 1957 Cannes Film Festival, where they ventured to the French Riviera together. It was during this time that Delon’s introduction to the film industry occurred, forging friendships with notable personalities like Jean-Claude Brialy and ultimately catching the attention of talent scouts such as Henry Willson, acting on behalf of David O. Selznick.

Years later, Brigitte Auber resurfaced on screen, portraying the elder Françoise in Claude de Givray’s miniseries “Mauregard” (1969). Notably, her younger counterpart in the series was played by another French actress associated with Hitchcock, Claude Jade from “Topaz.” Additionally, Brigitte Auber took on a supporting role in the 1998 film adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ “The Man in the Iron Mask,” where Leonardo DiCaprio starred as Louis XIV of France and his enigmatic twin.
