Charlie Murphy (born 19 April 1988) is an Irish actress best known for her portrayal of Ann Gallagher in the BBC series Happy Valley (2014–2023).

Murphy has showcased her talent across theatre, television, and film. She notably embodied the character Siobhán Delaney in the RTÉ drama series Love/Hate, earning recognition with awards such as Best TV Actress at the 2013 Irish Film and Television Awards, and Best Actress in a Lead Role at the 2015 Irish Film and Television Awards. Charlie Murphy, renowned actress, hails from Enniscorthy, Ireland. She is the daughter of Brenda and Pat Murphy, proprietors of a hair salon. Growing up, Charlie was one of six siblings. At the age of 12, her family relocated to Wexford.

Her journey into acting began with formal training at the prestigious Gaiety School of Acting, where she honed her craft from 2006 to 2008. Outside of her professional endeavors, Charlie Murphy is romantically involved with Sam Yates, a distinguished British theater and film director.
